Description:   Trail starts near downtown Goliad and follows the banks of the San Antonio River towards the burial site of Col. James W. Fannin and his men. Trail goes by the Presidio LaBahia, Goliad State Park & Mission Espiritu Santo, General Zaragosa Monument, Angel of Goliad Monument, and ends at the Fannin Memorial. A true walk through Texas History! Trail markers also highlight the diverse vegetation in this region.

The Angel of Goliad trail leads from downtown Goliad to the park.
Mission
The old missions along the trail are steeped in Texas history.
Fannin Monument
Remains of Co. James Walker Fannin and 400 of his troops massacred following the Battle of Coleto, March 27, 1836, were buried here 3-weeks after the fall of the Alamo by Gen. Thomas Rusk and the Texan Army. About 25 wounded men were saved by a Mexican woman who became known as "The Angel of Goliad."
